  • Make sure everything, including fixtures and fittings, are in good working order. Do you have any dripping taps? Any doors that won’t close properly? Windows that won’t shut?
  • Polish your wooden and tiled floors and have your carpets professionally cleaned.
  • Buyers are particularly interested in kitchens and bathrooms. So make sure they are fresh and tidy – and free of odours!

  • Lighting is important. Open up all the curtains and blinds. In darker areas, adjust the ambient lighting with covered lamps.
  • Make sure the kitchen is spotless. Consider baking some bread or cakes early in the morning for a cosy, homely feel.
